📈 Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy

Thien Motors Academy — Effective: March 2026

DEAC Accreditation Standard IV.E — Satisfactory Academic Progress

SAP Requirements

Thien Motors Academy monitors the academic progress of all enrolled students at regular intervals. Students must meet the following minimum standards to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress:

MeasureMinimum StandardMonitoring Frequency
Cumulative Quiz Average70%After every lesson
Course Completion RateProgress within 7 days per lessonWeekly automated check
EngagementAt least 1 lesson accessed per 7 daysWeekly automated check

How SAP is Calculated

  • Qualitative Standard: Cumulative average of all lesson quiz best scores must be â‰Ĩ70%.
  • Quantitative Standard: Student must maintain engagement — at least one lesson accessed every 7 calendar days.
  • SAP is calculated automatically by the platform and displayed in each student's dashboard at all times.

At-Risk Notification

  • Students whose cumulative average drops below 70% receive an automatic email notification with recommendations to review materials.
  • Students inactive for 7+ days receive a "Continue Learning" reminder email.
  • At-risk status is flagged in the administrative dashboard for instructor follow-up.
âš ī¸ Important: Falling below SAP does not automatically withdraw a student. You retain access to all course materials and can improve your standing by retaking available quizzes.

SAP Reinstatement

  • Students whose SAP status is flagged may retake available quiz attempts to improve their cumulative average.
  • Students may also contact their instructor via the Discussion tab or email for additional academic support.
  • If a student believes their SAP status was calculated in error, they may file a formal complaint for review by the CAO.

Academic Progress Notifications

Students are informed of their SAP status:

  • In real-time via the Student Dashboard (accessible 24/7)
  • Via automated email when SAP status changes
  • Via instructor feedback on submitted homework
