DEAC Accreditation Standards XII.B (Student Rights) & XII.C (Non-Discrimination)

Your Rights as a Student

  • Right to Quality Education: Access to accurate, up-to-date, professionally developed course materials and instruction.
  • Right to Fair Assessment: Grading per published policies; right to appeal any grade within 30 days.
  • Right to Academic Records: Access to your own enrollment records, grades, and certificates at any time via your Student Dashboard.
  • Right to Privacy (FERPA): Your educational records are confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without your written consent, except as permitted by law.
  • Right to File a Complaint: Submit complaints without fear of retaliation. See the Complaint Policy.
  • Right to Appeal: Appeal academic decisions to the Chief Academic Officer, then to the CEO.
  • Right to Accurate Information: Receive truthful information about courses, credentials, costs, and policies before enrollment.
  • Right to a Safe Learning Environment: Free from harassment, discrimination, or intimidation.

FERPA — Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

As a student at Thien Motors Academy, you have rights under FERPA, including:

  • The right to inspect and review your education records within 45 days of a written request.
  • The right to request correction of records you believe are inaccurate or misleading.
  • The right to consent before disclosure of personally identifiable information from your education records.
  • The right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education about alleged FERPA violations: studentprivacy.ed.gov.

Non-Discrimination Policy — DEAC Standard XII.C

Thien Motors Academy is committed to providing equal educational opportunity to all students. The institution does not discriminate on the basis of:

  • Race, color, national origin, or ethnicity
  • Sex or gender identity
  • Age
  • Disability or medical condition
  • Religion or creed
  • Sexual orientation
  • Veteran or military status
  • Any other characteristic protected by applicable federal or California state law

This policy applies to all aspects of the educational program, including admissions, enrollment, instruction, assessment, and certification.

Accommodations

Students with disabilities or special learning needs may request reasonable academic accommodations by contacting admin@namecentury.com. Requests are reviewed by the CAO within 5 business days.

Student Responsibilities

  • Complete your own work — academic dishonesty is grounds for immediate enrollment termination without refund.
  • Maintain respectful conduct in all platform interactions.
  • Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others.
  • Notify the institution promptly of any technical issues affecting your ability to complete coursework.
